Katak a little village next to Bukit Lawang, by motorbike only 5 minutes.
Bayu Katak is a quiet place and there
hardly any other tourists. So if you
want to get to know the indonesian culture, learn how to cook indonesian food
and speak bahasa indonesia, then a homestay in Gotong Royong is the best choice
for you.
Our place fits for backpackers and for
families as well. There are lots of local children in the neighborhood for
playing and we have a sport field next to our house for playing badminton. The
locals are always happy to have new players for a little competition and have a
drink together afterwards. There are also some competitions for children in the
afternoon.
Facilities
Our restaurant selection of both local
and Indonesian meals are available for
breakfast, lunch and dinner. Be sure to try a delicious hot cup of our famous
Jungle Tea, which is known for its cleansing and warming properties.
Laundry
daily laundry service is available and
is charged per piece, Please bring your laundry to the reception in the
morning.
Cooking
Class
We
also make cooking class, so if you like to learn how to make Indonesian
food or local food you can learn here.

At the moment we have a total of four rooms available, three at the bottom Macaque
sui and one on the top with nice balcony, lizard hun.

During your stay in Batu Katak, you can
have a look and get to know how to grow rice. If you want to, you can grow rice
on your own. The view over the rice terrace is really stunning, and you will
see lots of different green colours.
